The old question “Why do we get 50 candidates for Miss America but only 2 for President?” Quick answer: Nobody wants to see those old Congressmen in bathing suits!
Seriously, why are the Republicans and Democrats (Or ReBLOODlicans and DemoCRIPS as Jesse Ventura calls them… more on his philosophies in a later blog) the ONLY ones who can get air time? Why has nobody noticed that there is a complete monopoly on the political system? Even more scary, why do so many step into a voting booth just to look for the R’s or D’s and blindly vote for those candidates?
I’m not happy with what happened during the Obama Administration. He said Romney is working for a “Top-Down” economy, meaning lower the taxes on the rich and it will solve everything. Obama said in Mansfield that Ohioans know it doesn’t work because they tried it and it doesn’t work. Guess who tried it? Yup, Obama. That bailout scam to recycle the funds among those who were “too big to fail” and left us, the average Janes and Joes, to lose our jobs, houses, and 401K’s
The problem with that stance is I don’t care for Romney at all. He doesn’t come off as a decent character to me and I have had no interest in him since he threw his overpriced hat into the ring.
What’s an American to do? Look for 3rd party candidates. Laugh all you want, Ross Perot influenced the Elections in the 90’s, Ventura won as an Independent and Joe Lieberman won after being ousted by the Democrats. The dawn of legitimate 3rd party candidates is upon us.
A candidate I feel worth (at least) checking out is Gary Johnson. He is the former Libertarian Governor of New Mexico and has some decent ideas (who doesn’t) about the direction of the country.
His website is: http://www.garyjohnson2012.com/
For a comparison of all the candidates, check out: http://2012.presidential-candidates.org/
Bottom line, I am not here to tell you who to choose. Just don’t be a sheep in November by blindly following party lines. That’s how we got into this mess to begin with!
